La obra de Wilson Rodríguez se articula a partir de las enseñanzas de su padre, el maestro Abel Rodríguez Muinane, de su experiencia en el Amazonas y de su particular cosmovisión formada a través de experticias místicas durante el uso de plantas medicinales y sagradas.Para Wilson Rodríguez que ha adquirido sus conocimientos artísticos de una manera empírica, es decir por medio de su experiencia cotidiana, la relación con la naturaleza se manifiesta en su trabajo con la misma fuerza que la imaginación y el universo mítico de su nación.Los dibujos de Wilson son, de muchas maneras, representaciones de las relaciones entre el mundo visible o físico y el mundo invisible que solo se revela en el corazón del artista y a partir del cual puede, entre otras cosas, sanar el cuerpo y el espíritu propio, de los otros y de la comunidad. En esta medida, las obras de Rodríguez, no son dibujos solamente, son mapas cósmicos y polifónicos en los que el artista intenta condensar saberes muy antiguos y pensamientos contemporáneos.De esta manera, nociones como lógica, secuencia, concatenación, son reemplazados por ideas que se conectan más con el universo poético, tales como revelación, sincronía o intuición. Entonces, estos dibujos que parten del interés y necesidad por retratar la naturaleza orgánica, tienden por subvertir los patrones tradicionales de la representación y desembocan en revelaciones alucinógenas que revelan las arquitecturas invisibles de la realidad.En un orden múltiple y que por ende se multiplica, las formas y contenidos de los que se ocupa la obra de Wilson Rodríguez; las figuras, geometrías sencillas y las líneas, se convierten en ponderosas herramientas para una abstracción que no deriva del ejercicio conceptual, sino en cambio, de la sabiduría ancestral.

To this extent, Rodriguez’s works are not only drawings, they are cosmic and polyphonic maps in which the artist tries to condense very old knowledge and contemporary thoughts.In this way, notions such as logic, sequence, concatenation, are replaced by ideas that connect more with the poetic universe, such as revelation, synchrony or intuition. Then, these drawings that start from the interest and need to portray the organic nature, tend to subvert the traditional patterns of representation and lead to hallucinogenic revelations that reveal the invisible architectures of reality.In a multiple order, the forms and contents of the work of Wilson Rodriguez, the figures, simple geometries and the lines, become powerful tools for an abstraction that does not derive from the conceptual exercise, but instead, from the ancestral wisdom.
