RESISTENCIA is the last part of a trilogy that started with Sociedad Anonima, and was followed by Clandestina. It pro- poses a subjective reflexion on an important social syndrome of our times. For the past ten years we have witness protests in the streets of more than eighty countries. RESISTENCIA wants to represent this social pulsion and celebrate the con- stant yearning for a more equalitarian and fair society. Since 2011, most of the important cities of Chile have been the scenery of student manifestations expressing a demand for free education. Counting with an enormous civilian ap- proval, the leaders of this movement have won seats in Par- liament. Brazil as well has seen the rise of civilian protests claiming for better services in health, education and transport. Voices of protest have been heard in Colombia, Argentina, and of course Venezuela. And in most Latin-American countries the indigenous population are asking for the end of discrimina- tion and social exclusion. This shouts for freedom and justice are been heard in Ukraine, India, Thailand and the all over the Arab world. We are witnessing the first wave of global resis- tance in the XXI century. The leaders of these movements are from a new generation of young urban people who are not moved by a utopian dream but who want to fulfil some of the promises of democracy. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the meta-tales born form mo- dernity seemed lost and society was believed to have fallen into a letargy; the “end of history” was declared. However it seems this pulsion is well awake. As in the myth of Sisifo, ev- erything is bound to an eternal recurrence.
