Sebastián Fierro is interested in approaching painting as a tool to investigate the ways in which we occupy a place in the world. He is intrigued by the way in which man wishes to separate himself from nature by creating spaces where he can have control and understanding of his surroundings.
Karlo Ibarra’s work is strongly rooted in the geopolitical context in which he lives. He uses a variety of media that navigate between referents of conceptual art and mass culture, addressing issues related to social, political, cultural and geographical borders.
Through her work, Ana María Millán locates a personal and anarchist voice in the narrative spaces of video and the transmission of information in relation to subcultures, ideas of violence and exclusion discourses. The representations of the tropics or the territories defined by the global imaginary as exotic, is a recurring theme.
Aurora Pellizzi’s work combines artisanal textile production with a contemporary approach to painting, sculpture, and digital media. Through this combination, Pellizzi re-conceptualizes the distinction between art and craft.
The work of Santiago Reyes Villaveces responds to an investigation, an obsession, a fascination and a pleasure for the structures and dynamics that show states of indeterminacy, transience, precariousness and informality. The works—installations, sculptures, drawings, and photographs—transform, determine, modify, and interfere with the space they inhabit.
