Inframundo
The exhibition seeks to reflect on the relationships between the celestial and the terrestrial through the works of various artists. The project “Alien, the symmetry of chaos” by Daniel Santiago Salguero is the starting point to investigate the idea of the afterlife from its esoteric and geographical meaning. The pieces by Colectivo Mazenett-Quiroga, Gabriel Silva, François Bucher, Andrés Platarrueda Vanegas and José Gabriel Hernández offer various perspectives to reflect on the obvious forces that transform the cosmos and the invisible currents that constantly modify our existence.
Inframundo / Press TextIn this strange and unique times, more thanin any othermoment, it is important to rethinkthe relations between the celestial and the earthly. Between the invisible forces and energies that move the material and natural worlds, and that affects necessarily our personal cosmologies. From Daniel Santiago Salguero ́s work: Alien y la simetría del caos(Alien and the chaos symmetry),produced in New Yorkin 2016, we have brought together a group of artists that, from different coordinates, propose an interpretation of what Universe oritsmanifestation is for them. In this sense, the pieces that compose this exposition offer various perspectives (that come from a political to a shamanicview) to think about the evident forces in the universe, but also about the invisible flows that modify our experience on a daily basis.Nevertheless, this sampledeepens into the territory of the experience and, with an acute sense of critic, traces a parallelism between the daily life on the illegal immigrant in the States (Alien) and his invisible presence in society.
