
Holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design (USA), and a MA from Goldsmiths College (UK). Since the beginning of the 90’s Obregón has developed an experimental set of works that feed from particular aspects related to artists and movements from 20th century European and Latin – American avangarde, like Francis Picabia, Italian Futurism and Kinetic Art. Topics such as the relationship between man and machine, the evolution of travel, or the notion of speed understood as a means of control, have given origin to the following projects: Colombia Misión a Marte (2000), galería de la Alianza Francesa de Bogotá; Mach, (which received a honorary mention at the 2001 Premio Luis Caballero); and Comité Para la Apreciación del Color y de la Forma, shown at Valenzuela Klenner Gallery, Bogotá (2009).
He lives and works in Bogotá and is a part – time teacher at the Universidad de Los Andes.
