Ana Roldán lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. Her work is inspired by cultural phenomena such as historical events, philosophical ideas, language, social systems, and reflections on aesthetics and the representation of nature. She is interested in exploring how viewers can be stimulated both physically and intellectually through the confrontation or displacement of these systems.

She works with a variety of media — performance, sculpture, installation, video, and collage — and often incorporates natural materials such as coconut, bamboo, wood, semi-precious stones, or leather. These elements evoke the origins and traditional uses of the materials within the cultures she investigates.
